Overall, how happy are you?

Bryan Rourke - PROJO

2009-08-09

Brown's not green. But it's happy.

This year's Princeton Review, which ranks colleges in lots of different categories — party schools, student diversity and environmental consciousness, etc. — reports Brown University students are among the happiest college students in the country. Actually, the Brown students report that.

The Princeton Review surveyed 120,000 students online, asking more than 80 questions in 62 ranking categories. In the category of self-reported happiness, Brown students rank second, behind students at Clemson University. Finishing out the top 10 are Princeton University, Claremont McKenna College, Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering, Stanford University, University of Dayton, Bowdoin College, College of New Jersey and Tulane University.

In a new ranking category this year, “green” colleges, Arizone State University was ranked number one. Brown did not make that top-10 list.
