July 9th party to raise money for poverty-stricken communities in Gansu Province

Cheng County in rural Gansu Province is an area where residents make less than RMB650 per year. The county's already dire financial situation was worsened by last year's earthquake, which destroyed 11,000 homes and damaged nearly 50,000 more.

PlaNet Finance China would like to help organizations in this region set up a microfinance facility to support the redevelopment of Cheng County. Gaining access to credit will go a long way to helping people in the area begin the process of rebuilding their lives and community. To that end, PlaNet Finance China is hosting a fundraiser next month.

The party will feature a big buffet courtesy of Mughal's and wine from The Wine Republic. There will also be lots of goodies to be had at the silent auction (everything from goods made in many of China's micro-enterprises, to camping trips, to massage vouchers).
